Certified Fraud Examiner (“CFE”)

What is a Certified Fraud Examiner specialist?
The credential, Certified Fraud Examiner, is granted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners based on education, experience, technical expertise in the detection and deterrence of a wide variety of white-collar crimes such as identity theft, fraud and embezzlement. CFEs gather evidence, take statements, write reports and assist in investigating fraud in its varied forms. Certified Fraud Examiners come from various professions, including CPAs, auditors, fraud investigators, loss prevention specialists, attorneys, educators and criminologists.  The CFE credential requires substantial continuing education.
